Where I Came From...
I was born in Bucharest, Romania on September 4, 1977, where I spent my formative years. My parents and I emigrated here to the States in August of 1986 so we could seek the American dream. I've been here ever since and don't plan on going back.
Where I Was Educated...
I was edumacated in Romania up to 2nd grade, when we moved to America. I started 3rd grade in Hartford, CT, where we first lived. We moved to an outlying town, Bloomfield, where I went to elementary, middle school, and junior high school. My parents wanted me to do great things, so I went to a Northwest Catholic in West Hartford, a private catholic high school. I graduated in '96 and went to WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) to study Computer Science. I stuck with it and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in 2000.
Where I Work...
With great things in mind, I accepted a position with ATG (Art Technology Group), not only because they gave me the best offer, but because its an awesome company. Yes, its one of those "what, you don't have cubicles?" types of places, including foosball, ping pong, pool, arcade games, and all the coolest furniture and lighting you could ask for. Ok, so the days of the free soda and crazy parties are gone, as well as the 120 dollar stock price, but I still love the stuff I do and the company. Which brings me to exactly what I do... My official title is, take a big breath, "Senior Java Development Support Engineer"... which translates to "Technical Support". I support Dynamo, which is what we make... and it does everything under the Sun (get it?). So the hours are long and the stress high, but the rewards are great. I don't mean the money, I mean the feeling that you get when you solve some developer's problem, cause thats who calls us up. Not some guy who uses his cd-rom drive as a cup holder, but the guys that have been coding since before they could walk. Enough of me talking about my job... and to answer your question with a little tear in my eye, no ATG isn't hiring now.
